Melodie Sida, the managing director of GSD Productions, grew up in an indigent and nomadic family and helped provide for her large family by doing odd jobs and farm work. She had a voracious curiosity and loved learning new things but was not allowed to continue her formal education after the fifth grade. Her life has always been a series of bizarre, unforeseen, beautiful, and sometimes scary adventures – providing her with plenty of fodder from which to draw inspiration for her creative endeavors – and the superpower to assess situations and find testable solutions using the resources immediately available.

Besides being a Video Production Manager, Broadcast Operations Specialist, and Editor, she is also a writer. Most of her work is creative non-fiction which draws upon her own real-life experiences, proving that truth is indeed stranger than fiction. A confluence of contradicting passions, Mel balances many artistic and technical endeavors – except acting. Stage fright is very real, which is why she prefers to stay behind the camera, or switcher, or typewriter.

Now, after 25 years in the corporate worlds of news, entertainment, and marketing, Mel has embarked on a new quest – to help others tell their stories, share their passions, speak their truths, and just have fun! She enjoys geeking out, exploring limits, and learning new things everyday – and encourages everyone to do the same.
